Partners with Growth Focused Management Team to Secure Platform Company

Hawthorne, NY and Boston, MA, October 13, 2011. ABRY Partners, LLC (“ABRY Partners”) has completed its acquisition of Xand Corporation, a best-in-class facilities-based provider of managed data center infrastructure, private cloud, colocation, and business continuity services.

Data Center requirements in the northeast have grown exponentially in the last 5 years and are expected to continue at a rapid pace for several years. Xand has experienced solid growth and expansion by successfully addressing this demand and increasing its market share. With the significant resources of ABRY, that growth and expansion will continue. ABRY Partners, a private equity investment firm, has made several significant investments in the datacenter and communications space. “We believe Xand’s steady growth-to-date, along with its high quality facilities, services, and employees constitute a strong and scalable platform. We look forward to partnering with the team in growing Xand’s footprint and market presence.” said Brian St. Jean of ABRY.

Partnering with ABRY in the acquisition of Xand are two successful executives who will drive Xand’s growth initiatives. David Struwas has been named Chief Executive Officer and Robert J. DeSantis has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Struwas and Mr. DeSantis, who will join the existing Xand team, are both highly accomplished senior executives who bring over 50 years of experience in building and growing communications and technology companies. Lee Weinstein, the prior President and owner of Xand Corporation, will remain involved with the business as a significant investor and serve on the Company’s Board of Directors.

“Businesses are challenged with handling the expense and complexity of in-house IT functions and infrastructure, and are looking to outsource these activities while reducing operating and capital costs,” Struwas said. “The breadth of knowledge and experience of the Company’s management team positions Xand for a growth strategy through both acquisitions and new builds, while maintaining industry best customer service facilities and superior technical support”. DeSantis added “With ABRY’s financial support and industry experience and Xand’s current operations as a platform, we are well positioned to make additional prudent investments to grow the business. As evidence of this, Xand has completed a recent large data center expansion bringing its total gross square footage to 90,000 and is in the process of securing an additional 50,000 square feet of data center space”.

Hawthorne, NY, February 23, 2011. This spring will mark the fourth and largest expansion for Xand at their Westchester County location. The high demand for colocation services in the Northeast prompted the need for over 5,000 sq.ft. of additional raised floor data center space. This results in approximately 12,000 sq.ft. of additional capacity for Xand in the last 12 months, or a total of 30,000 sq.ft. overall. The build is largely to accommodate the growth in business of current clients, new colocation customers, plus a new Xand offering focused on virtualization and private cloud services.

Xand will more than double the cooling and power capacities in the facility, along with the expansion in raised floor space. New state-of-the-art systems are being added to the sophisticated switch gear, along with a third 1.25 Megawatt Caterpillar diesel generator to maintain N+1 redundancy with the added power demands.

Vice President of Sales, Jim Kramer, comments, “As firms sharpen their pencils and analyze the cost centers in their business, many are concluding they can save dollars by moving their servers and IT assets to a colocation facility like Xand, or better yet, having a Service Provider manage their whole IT environment.” Overall this sector of the market has experienced steady growth for the past several years.

Xand has responded to the growth requirement and increased demand for their services. Construction of the new area will be completed April 2011. Discussions are ensuing regarding Xand’s plans for additional facilities.

About Xand

Founded in 1990, Xand is a facilities-based provider of data center infrastructure and business continuity solutions to financial services and mid-sized corporations. Xand’s core business is in delivering Enterprise Server hosting and co-location, functioning as a business’s primary Data Center for their critical applications such as E-mail, website, accounting, and inventory systems. Xand offers complete, end-to-end solutions including application and server hosting, security, data storage, systems engineering, network operations, Internet connectivity, and business continuity office suites.
