Specifications
Xand Corporation is a FCC and New
York State Public Service Commission approved and tariffed
telephone and telecommunications carrier. As a result, Xand has
access to the fiber optic network, services and support from
Verizon and MCI Worldcom which are not available to small
regional ISPs.
The Xand backbone utilizes
redundant OC-12 (622.08 Ambit/sec) fiber optic connections to
the Verizon SONET (Synchronous Optical Network) ring. The
connection is designed and provisioned with EAD (Enhanced Access
Diversity) which provides differently routed fiber optic
circuits to separate Verizon central office locations. MCI
Worldcom provides additional fiber optic OC-3 and OC-12
connectivity.
